How To Remove Bush Hog From Tractor
- #one
I bought a new brush squealer for my BX2660. My wife and I had trouble attaching the PTO. I finally went on hands, but we have no idea what we did differently to allow information technology to slip on. Now that I'm washed, I'm trying to remove it. Considering of the plastic cover on the shaft, I can barely get my hand in to pull on the connexion. And I can't get it to budge. The just video I can find is on a big tractor, not a shut-up of what he's doing, and information technology appears he can grab the shaft with one paw while pulling the connectedness back with the other hand. I tin can't take hold of the shaft because of the plastic cover. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

The plastic shield can limit your grip on it but reach past it and pull and wiggle and brand certain you are pressing the lock push button. Its the affair that probably clicked when y'all pushed it on.
Coupling/uncoupling is ever easier if both parts are clean and have a light spray lube on them. I used to grease them merely that makes dirt and grime stick.
A piffling habiliment on the parts helps future attempts too. They tend to get easier rather than harder.

I accept the Kubota brush hog and I observe that universal to the PTO a bear to get on and off. I finally decided to spray both parts with a low-cal grease blazon stuff similar to WD40. Made the chore quite piece of cake then.

Some PTO shafts use a trivial button you take to press to lock/unlock from the PTO shaft and others employ a skid collar you lot accept to slide dorsum towards you to lock/unlock.
Which one do you accept?
Some PTO shaft locks have to be held in the unlock position to get information technology on the PTO shaft.

Mine has a skid collar. Pull it back and slide information technology on and pull it back to get information technology off.

With a photograph nosotros can tell y'all if it is like shooting fish in a barrel to disconnect the big cease of the plastic guard and slide it dorsum along the shaft giving y'all a lot more room to work at the locking and release mechanism.
This photo was marked upwardly for a different reason just you can meet there are 3 #24 plastic fasteners which agree the big plastic guard onto the plastic guard tube. I half a turn on each plastic fastener and you can pull it out releasing the big piece.

Getting the shield back out of the way (as Dave said) is the key to getting information technology off easier.
In that location are a few unlike means to get the shield loose but the plastic screws seem about common.
When you go the pto shaft off, you should await at how the shield has to be arranged to get it well fastened to the shaft. That will assist you get it done when you have the PTO shaft fastened to tractor
